Schedule of Tours
A Day by the Sea Tours operates
two types of tours during the summer months,
depending on the schedule of crossings of the Cat Ferry. Some of these tours
are "day trips" where you arrived in Nova Scotia and are taken on
the tour, returning
to United States on the Cat that same day. Other tours feature an overnight
package,
adding the bonus of more time in Yarmouth for scenic walkabouts.
Note
that Nova Scotia time is one hour earlier than New England time.
Departures and arrivals of the CAT Ferry are listed in the appropriate local
time.

The
tourist season is divided into three main segments...

In this season,
we offer two tour options based on the arrival of the CAT ferry
in Yarmouth. Coastal
Excursion 2 1/2 hour Day Tour
- This tour is available
on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, when the CAT ferry is sailing
from, and returning to Bar Harbour. On Monday only, you will
sail from Bar Harbour at 9:00 and arrive in Yarmouth at approximately
1:30 p.m. our time, and on Tuesday or Wednesday leave Bar Harbour at
8:00 arriving in Yarmouth at approximately 12:30 p.m. On arrival in
Yarmouth you will be picked up at the ferry terminal to enjoy the Coastal
Excursion Tour. You will return to the ferry terminal in time for the
return trip to Bar Harbour. Coastal Excursion 5 Hour Day Tour - This tour is available in the Early Season based on the arrivals of the CAT Ferry from Portland, from where it sails at 8:00 a.m. in the latter part of the week. Because of the later arrival in Yarmouth from Portland (arrival at approximately 2:30 p.m.), your longer coastal tour will take place the following day. This is available on arrivals on Friday and Saturday sailings, with tours on Saturday and Sunday. On your arrival
in Yarmouth on the CAT, your Yarmouth accomodation will be arranged
as part of your BayFerries tour booking. You enjoy the advantage of
a quiet evening taking in the sights of the historic port town of Yarmouth.
Your tour begins at 10:00 a.m. the following day, and after that you
will be taken to the ferry terminal in ample time for the 4:00 p.m.
sailing of the CAT back to Portland.

During
this season, the Coastal Excursion 2 1/2 hour Day Tour is available
on Monday and Tuesday only of each week. See detailed times above

this season, the Coastal Excursion 5 Hour Tour is available on sailings
from Portland on Friday and Saturday, with overnight package and tours

The later season is identical to the weekly tour schedule of the Early Season listed above... day tours on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and overnight packages and longer tours based on arrivals on Friday and Saturday. |
