COASTAL EXCURSION - 2 1/2 Hour Tour

Travel in comfort on an award-winning tour with local lobster fisherman
Calvin d’Entremont on a leisurely excursion along Nova Scotia's rugged Atlantic Coast. Discover our history and way of life during an unforgettable afternoon of scenic ocean views, lighthouses, intriguing stories, facts and folklore. Enjoy a picturesque tour of the oldest French Acadian Community in North America, first settled in the 1600s. Discover the fascinating historical ties between the "Cajuns" of Louisiana and the Acadians of Nova Scotia.

Tour Includes:

· Hear your tour guide share his personal experiences as a commercial lobster fisherman and enjoy “hauling” a lobster trap at Dennis Point Wharf.

· Savor the beauty as you and your friendly tour guide journey to visit the majestic Ste. Anne's Church, built with stunning architecture in 1900

· Take a step back in time as you tour a replica of a traditional early-1900s Acadian Village, including an original lighthouse, several turn-of-the-century homes and artifacts, and the pristine beauty of Pubnico Harbour

· Meet and chat with local fishermen, see their boats, and learn why they love their livelihood, at one of the busiest fishing ports in Atlantic Canada

· View the fascinating wind park with its 17 stately windmills, towering 389 feet on the shores of breathtaking Lobster Bay

· Travel by the oldest courthouse and jail in all of Canada, and learn its history

· Hear the folklore, enjoy the friendliness of the people, view the magnificent scenery, and create a lasting memory of picturesque Nova Scotia

· You can purchase lunch at the Café in the Acadian Village

PLEASE COME PREPARED

Nova Scotia summers usually offer warm days and cool nights, but our weather also has a tendency to surprise, so please be sure you are prepared for showers. A light sweater or jacket and comfortable shoes are also recommended. Please remember that Nova Scotia is in the Atlantic Time Zone and that is one hour ahead of Eastern Time.
